The Purpose of Ideas to Action

The Ideas to Action Idea
The idea behind Ideas to Action  is very simple: put people together to form new businesses.
All successful enterprises are built by teams of people. Often a single entrepreneur starts a business, but the success is always built by a group of people, a team.

Ideas to Action is designed to help you to develop the right team at the very start, or even before the start of a new commercial venture.
If you have an idea for a new venture, you can find and invite people with the skills to help you in getting your idea to the market. If you have the skills, you can offer them to someone who already has a business proposal.
Or simply join with like minded people and find common interests that lead to the ideas for new business proposals.

Thus building your partnerships, cooperation and collaboration.

How to use Ideas to Action

Join
Join Ideas to Action by simply entering a user name, password and email address (for our administration purposes only)

Enter your profile information

This takes you to a blank profile page.
Using the drop down menu, enter your region, business sectors, and skills. These will show when anyone looks at your profile. You can enter as many as you wish, and they will be displayed in alphabetical order. If you wish to enter a business sector which is not displayed in the drop down menu, contact us at admin@teamswork.co.uk and we may enter it on the menu.

There are 3 sections (career, personal, and concept) in which you can write about yourself. Each of these sections is divided in 2 parts. Part 1 will be visible to anyone browsing your profile; part 2 will only be visible to those you invite to be friends (or potential colleagues or collaborators).

The career section allows you to write as much or as little as you wish about your education, training and career history.

The personal section is to enable you to let others know about you; your interests and hobbies, your view of life and lifestyle.

The concept section can be used to outline an idea, concept, new invention or propose a type of collaboration. This is also an opportunity to describe your ideal work-life balance, and what kind of business or business approach you would wish to invest your time in.

“Keywords” from your visible text can be picked up by other users in their searches

A link to “lodge an idea” allows you to post a specific idea which can be easily accessed by those searching for new business concepts. We recommend that you post enough information to raise interest without giving away the whole idea

Search and browse other profiles

The search engine allows you to browse through members profiles and read their “visible” information to see whether they might have a proposal you would like to be involved in, or if they have skills and experience that would be useful on a project of your own, or even if they might be someone you could work with and together formulate a new idea.
You can only contact a member if you have joined and logged into Ideas to Action
You can search using the drop down menus to find the skills you require within a specific business sector, or search for ideas within your chosen business sector. There is also a facility to search “keywords” from the visible text of users’ profiles.

Contact other members
Messages: When logged in as a member you can contact other members via the internal messages facility.
Other members or visitors cannot view your full profile until a friend invitation has been sent and accepted. The recipient and the sender of the invitation can then view each others full profile and each others memo pad.

Favourites: If you have viewed a profile to which you would like to return you can add it to your Favourites and return to view it again at any time without having to go through the search engine

Colleagues: After adding a person to your colleagues list you are able to view their full profile, contact them via the messages, and see the notes on their memo pad, and they will be able to do the same.

Memo Pad: The Memo Pad allows you to post information that can be viewed by all your friends, without having to email them all. You can view the Memo Pad on the profiles of all your friends.

My Notes: My Notes is simply a means of taking notes as your own reminder and cannot be viewed by anyone else.

Ideas to Action Events
Ideas to Action
members will be invited to events, high level conferences and meetings at which they will have the opportunity to hear successful business people and to meet other members, potential suppliers, financiers and banking representatives, as well as staff from many of the schemes in place for advising and mentoring those involved in new projects.

Ideas to Action Association
Members of Ideas to Action will be able to join the Ideas to Action Association which will lobby nationally on behalf of small and medium enterprises. As this will be an association of SMEs within any and all business sectors it will not be dominated by the agenda of a powerful single organisation (as is evident in most trade associations). Through the association’s links, negotiating power of any individual enterprise can be greatly increased.

Ideas to Action Connections
This is a similar group to the Ideas to Action Association, but working on a local and regional level. Ideas to Action Connections will address regional issues, liaising with organisations such as local Chambers of Commerce and councils.

Small and Medium Enterprises and Ideas to Action
Companies and small enterprises are invited to join Ideas to Action, and make use of the network to find people, join groups and use all the services available to individual members.

Ideas to Action network
